2008 3rd Year Mining Field Trip
The Third Years traveled to Timmins, Ontario for a week long visit to Mines in the area. While in Timmins the students visited the Luzenac Plant Site, Xstrata Mine Site, Goldcorp Hoyle Pond Site, Paramour Open Pit and the Porcupine Dome Operation.
Many thanks go out to Rio Tinto and Xstrata and Goldcorp for hosting dinners for our students.

CIM Grubstake Night
Is a networking event held in Toronto by the CIM Toronto Branch
Thank you to Rick and Larry for inviting the Queen's Mining Engineering Students and showing them about good manners, how to write a resume, how to create a business card and sharing some information about the mining industry.
We were the biggest group of students there, about 30 students. There was about 100 industry members in attendance, mainly on the Mining side. A number of times the organiers mentioned the busload of students from Queen's. Certainly, we had the biggest mining school presence!
