Dr. Javier Vallejos graduated from the Robert M. Buchan Department of Mining, Queen’s University, where he completed his
Ph.D. studies on the topic of seismicity in mines. Most of these techniques have been published in the area of mining
rock mechanics. Dr. Vallejos has rock engineering experience from open pit and underground mines in Canada,
Mexico, Argentine, and Chile. He is currently Assistant Professor at the Department of Mining Engineering at the
University of Chile, in Santiago, were he teaches the courses on Rock Mechanics, Numerical Modelling and
Geotechnical Mining. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of the Robert M. Buchan Department of Mining.

- Underground and surface mining methods
- Financial feasibility analysis
